Risks of Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a cap placed over a damaged tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. While the crown itself can't decay, the natural tooth underneath is still vulnerable. One of the most common risks is tooth decay at the junction where the crown meets the gum line, especially with improper oral hygiene. Other potential issues include:
Sensitivity: You might experience temporary sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures after the procedure. If this persists, it could be a sign of an ill-fitting crown or nerve irritation.
Poor Fit: An improperly fitted crown can affect your bite, leading to discomfort or even a wonky bite that can cause jaw pain.

This can weaken them and make them more susceptible to decay or damage.
