Our refurbished patient entrance!
What has changed?
Hello! On behalf of Rhydian and our Team Members I’d like to thank the people of Whitland and the surrounding communities for our warm welcome!
Since we arrived in May, we have made it our priority to turn the surgery into a welcoming place where we can care for you, your families and friends.
Quite a few changes have been made; we hope to use this platform to keep you informed.
In May we introduced digital x-rays to the surgery. This procedure is not only more efficient, but also safer for staff and gives only the lowest radiation doses to patients.
In June we restructured the software and patient data base. This allowed us to collate emails and phone numbers of current patients so we could create our reminder system that updates you about your up coming appointments.
In July we refurbished the stock room so that the products we use on patients are kept in an orderly manner, temperature controlled and in date.
In August we refurbished the front of the building to reflect our branding and help maintain the Edwardian shop front, that pays homage to the towns heritage and history.
In September, we refurbished one of the surgeries. It is now compliant with the highest health and safety standards. The new equipment has made it easier to inform our patients about their treatment plans and provide a comfortable, safe and clean environment, whilst we work.
In October we digitised reception, meaning, we will still answer your calls, but when you arrive there may not be a member of staff in reception. However, they will always be available. We ask that you sign in on the iPad to let us know you have arrived and then please take a seat. This change has been created so that staff can attend to their duties and be more efficient and team orientated.
In November, Rhydian, our practice manager, worked closely with fire safety officers to make sure we have a comprehensive Fire Safety Plan. New smoke detectors, signage and serviced fire extinguishers were placed throughout the building.

What’s Next?
The renovation of the entire building is in our business plan. This takes time and we ask you to please be patient with us whilst we work towards that goal.
We are planning on continuing with the reception in the New Year. We promise it will be worth the wait!
Notice Board
We have a daily emergency slot. This is filled on a first come first served basis. The reception staff will triage your call and based on your needs, and can offer you the slot if it is free or offer you another appointment based on availability. We will not book this slot in advance and we cannot guarantee that you will be the first caller if you ring back the following day.
Zero tolerance policy - We operate under a strict zero tolerance policy to violence or aggression. This includes verbal abuse and rudeness. Please remember our staff are trying to help you!
In the lead up to Christmas we are extremely busy. Whilst we will do everything we can to help you, we would appreciate you working with us by: cancelling in advance if you can’t make an appointment, being punctual, and only ringing for the emergency slot when necessary.
