Appointment Information

How to…

Making an Appointment

Please ring the practice and one of our friendly staff will be able to assist you.

We are a Denplan practice, so whilst you can register as a Private patient and pay a £59 deposit, registering for Denplan Essentials and starting a monthly direct debit has multiple benefits.

You will receive email and text reminders about your appointment.

You will be asked to fill in your Medical History in advance and create a login to your Patient Portal.

How to get Here

We are just off the Whitland high street.

There are trains, buses and a free council car park.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment and check in at reception on the iPad.

Take a seat an a member of staff will come to collect you at your appointment time.

Please be aware that being late or missing your appointment will incur charges or the loss of your place at the practice.

Lastly, please note that we do not take walk ins or switch family appointments without notice.

Your First Appointment

At your first appointment we will offer you a full examination and optional x-rays.

We will use the information to create a treatment plan for any necessary treatment.

The dentist will go through the treatment plan with you which will show you what treatment you need and how much it will cost.

We will email you a copy; you can also find this information on your patient portal. Prices can also be found on the Main Page of our website.

Treatment

If you wish to take up any of the suggested treatment, you can make appointments in surgery with the dentist or call reception at a later date.

If you are a private or Denplan Essentials patient there will be a £59 deposit. If you are a Denplan Care patient there is no deposit.

You will be given the next available slot.

Please note waiting times depend on the treatment, slot time and availability.

Recalls

Once your treatment is complete the dentist will book you a recall appointment.

This is usually your next check up.

Recalls are based on guidelines. The dentist will assess your risk level and determine an appropriate period.

If you would like to be seen sooner, you can pay an additional fee.

Please note that if you cancel you appointment, we can only put you back in where slots are available.

Emergencies

Please call the practice at 9am if you have a Dental Emergency. The reception staff will triage you on the phone.

We have a single daily emergency slot.

Please note that you may not be the first caller and you may need to call back the next day.

Private and Denplan Essentials patients pay an £105 fee PLUS treatment costs for the slot. Denplan Care patients do not pay additional fees for this service.
